Contact with:  A broad range of internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, students, lecturers, Advisory Council Board. 
Purpose of job:  The role will articulate the vision, mission and ethos of the university and inspire and empower internal and external stakeholders and the teaching profession to achieve the vision. The role will lead the growth of three core income streams:

  • Sports Programs
  • Hospitality Programs
  • Artificial Intelligent (AI)
Principle Accountabilities: 

This is a vitally important role, not only in the day-to-day operation of the University but also in influencing and developing the overall strategic aims of our organisation.

A significant part of the post involves ensuring strong student numbers within the institution by driving recruitment and supporting retention. Other key responsibilities include working closely with the Head to maintain excellent and timely communication with all stakeholders, including governors, and further enhancing the outstanding reputation of LGUC.

The role also encompasses leading Marketing initiatives and chairing the Marketing Committee, which is a sub-committee of the Full Governing Board. For the right candidate, this position will serve as a pivotal strategic function within the Senior Leadership Team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive student recruitment and marketing strategy aligned with institutional goals and targets.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing recruitment and admissions team, fostering a results-driven and supportive environment.
  • Deputise for the Head of Student Recruitment when required, representing the function at senior levels.

Marketing & Brand Management

  • Design and execute strategic marketing plans to increase student enquiries and enrolments while maintaining the organisation’s reputation for academic excellence.
  • Manage digital and social media campaigns to boost visibility and engagement within target markets.
  • Act as a ‘Brand Guardian,’ ensuring consistent, clear, and professional communication of key messages across all platforms.
  • Work effectively with external agencies (website providers, digital marketing agencies, designers) to maintain high standards of accessibility, safeguarding, and brand consistency.

Admissions & Customer Experience

  • Oversee the entire student journey from initial enquiry to enrolment and alumni engagement, ensuring an exceptional and personalised experience at every touchpoint.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Admissions, and other stakeholders to deliver a seamless applicant experience.
  • Organise and lead admissions events such as Open Days and prospective student visits.

Data & Performance Analysis

  • Monitor and evaluate recruitment activities using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement.
  • Analyse CRM data trends and metrics to measure success and guide strategic decisions.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and demographic trend monitoring to identify market opportunities and risks.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage marketing and admissions budgets effectively, ensuring optimal use of resources for maximum impact.
  • Oversee the creation of promotional materials, including prospectuses, inserts, and digital content.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with external partners, agents, and educational networks to expand global recruitment channels.
  • Develop relationships within and outside the University to enhance its profile locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Maintain continuous dialogue with key stakeholders, alumni, and the local community to raise the organisation’s profile.

Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare and present reports for the Registrar and Marketing & Admissions Committee, including updates, statistics, and insights for strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with LGUC policies and procedures in all marketing and admissions activities.

Office Support

  • Monitor stock levels and order office supplies in accordance with LGUC procurement procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including supplies, equipment, filing systems, and shared spaces.
  • Assist with LGUC emergency preparedness, compliance reviews, and continuity planning.
  • Oversee use of the LGUC logo.
  • Handle room allocation and bookings using the LGUC Live system; maintain internal signage and information notices.
  • Assist with general office enquiries and data entry needs.
  • Oversee and update LGUC website and LinkedIn content, gathering information from faculty and staff.
  • Schedule internal meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes as required.
  • Coordinate couriers, mail distribution, and internal communications.
  • Prepare documentation, briefing packs, and follow-up materials as directed by the President and Registrar.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial data.
  • Uphold ethical standards in all audit activities.

Organisational Planning & Strategy

  • Work with the Executive Leadership Team to shape the organisational business plan, in partnership with programs head and the Council, supported by a clear budget and plan for income generation.
  • Lead the implementation of the strategy, ensuring that KPIs are met / action is taken to course correct, and provide day-to-day guidance and long-term strategic direction for all employees within the University
  • Oversee the University existing and new products and services, ensuring that they are of the highest standard, and are informed by research and impact evaluation


Leadership

  • Advise on the education content of internal and external communications
  • Provide overall accountability and leadership in a range of areas including Teaching, publishing, content, research, accreditation status and other professional learning and partner institutions accreditation status
  • Report to the Council as required and be the Executive Leadership Team representative for relevant committees and ensure they have the reports and data needed to make informed decisions for the College.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post as directed by managers.

Essential Experience and knowledge Requirements: Core Requirements

  • Awareness of and compliance with Health and Safety legislation and policies relevant to the post.
  • Understanding of Ghana Education, Equality, and Diversity policies, with a commitment to organizational growth.
  • Commitment to safeguarding young and vulnerable adults during service delivery.

  • Proven administrative experience, ideally within the education sector.
  • Proven experience in education, preferably within international or boarding school environments
  • Strong track record of developing marketing strategies that drive enrolment growth
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Skilled in using CRM systems and analysing data to inform decisions
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, social media, and student recruitment trends
